1. What are Sicily by Car offices in Malta?  

Sicily by Car is present in Malta at the International Airport 5 km south of the capital Valletta. Please, visit our website www.sicilybycar.mt for further details.

2. Which cars belong to a specific category?  

Sicily by Car fleet offers a wide choice of vehicles, all freshly registered, divided by categories, diesel and/or petrol, manual or automatic transmission, 9 seater minivans, 100% electric cars. The whole fleet and all the different categories can be checked on our website www.sicilybycar.mt

3. Can I rent abroad with Sicily by Car ?  

Yes, through the "SBC Abroad" section visible in the menu and in the top page of our website: www.sicilybycar.mt

4. Which are the methods of payment accepted by Sicily by Car ?  

To rent with Sicily by Car you must have a Mastercard/Visa credit card under th main driver's name. Debit cards are also accepted, but please check the dedicated page "debit card". No cash or cheque payments accepted.

5. Is there any milleage limit ?  

Rentals up to 26 days have unlimited milleage.

6. I lost my password, how can I get it back ?

Customer Service Area

1. When will the cautionary deposit be released on my credit card?  

The deposit will be released after 10 working days if you return the vehicle with full tank and in perfect conditions.

2. I;t a fine during my rental period. What do I have to do?  

Pay immediately the fine to avoid any handling and postal fee charge when the fine is notified by the Authority to our Company as unpaid. Any fines you receive in hand are to be paid immediately to the Local Authorities. Any fines received directly to our Company will be deducted from your credit card including the Traffic Administration fee.

3. I have received your communication relating a missing fine/toll payment notified to your Company but I have already paid it. What do I have to do?  

Please contact the Authority who issued the fine directly advising it about your payment and kindly forward our company the proof of the payment you effected.

4. What is the handling and postal fee for a fine/toll?  

This is a charge to cover the administrative expenses to communicate to the Authority your data in order to notify the fine/toll under your name to your address. This is a charge to cover the administrative expenses our company incurs to handle incurred Traffic Violations.

5. I have not received the fine/toll from the Authority yet. How can I pay it?  

Please wait for the Authority's fine/toll notification under your name with the payment instructions or contact the Authority directly. In Malta we do not have any tolls. Any fines and / or CVA bills received by our company will be debited from the client’s credit card including the Traffic Administration fee. All documentation will then be emailed to the client.

6. Can I obtain the rental invoice by email?  

Yes, please leave your email address when you sign your rental agreement.

7. I need to rent a vehicle for work. Can I receive the rental invoice under my Company's name?  

Yes, please provide the Vat number and your e-mail address when you sign the rental agreement.

8. Will I be charged if I bring the vehicle after the scheduled drop off time?  

Please note that there is a grace time of 59 minutes from the return time noted on your rental agreement. If you return the vehicle later than your grace time you will be charged for one extra rental day. For any further details, please check our terms and conditions.

Booking area

1. Which documents do I need in order to rent a car?  

Driver must have a valid driving permit, credit card and identity card or passport.

2. May I choose a specific car model?  

We do not guarantee specific car models, we only confirm car categories.

3. What happens if my flight is delayed?  

If the customer provided correct flight info and mobile number when booking the car, the rental desk shall check the flight and keep the car for the customer. If the customer reaches the desk after regular opening hours, out of hour fees apply. If flight info and mobile number were not provided and the customer does not contact the desk to inform about delay, the car shall be considered free after two hours.

4. When is the deposit returned?  

If the car is returned without any damages, the deposit is released immediately upon closing the rental agreement. However, the amount will actually be available again depending on the company that issued the credit card. Maximum of 30 days.

5. Can I extend the rental?  

Any extension requests must be done directly at the pick-up location, whereby total cost of extra days will be advised and payment effected.

6. Can I bring my pet with me?  

Animals are not allowed inside our cars.

7. What should I do if I receive a traffic fine?  

If the customer receives a traffic fine during his rental and pays for it, he must send an email with the proof of payment to mla@sicilybycar.mt
